Google Jamboard for Education License

As a qualified G Suite for Education customer who has or would like to purchase a Jamboard with a license, here’s what you need to know:

The license(s) you initially purchased for your educational organization will now be treated as a one time purchase for the life of the Jamboard, and you won’t need to renew it every year. You will not be charged a management and support fee again.
For new G Suite for Education Jamboard customers - Per Google's broader announcement on June 26th, 2018, Google will be launching a Jamboard Education License that does not have a recurring annual fee.

Who's eligible for the Jamboard Education License?

Only eligible for qualified education customers who have an existing G Suite for Education domain.

What is a Jamboard Education License?

A Jamboard Education License is an one-time purchase for the life of the Jamboard that does not have a recurring annual license fee.

How do I verify if I am qualified?

Check your license verification within the Google Admin console. On the "Billing" page under your "Subscriptions", only those marked G Suite for Education - Free Subscription are eligible to purchase the Jamboard Education License.

**Please note, the following are not qualified for the Jamboard Education License:

Domains that end in .edu do not automatically qualify; Domain must be a G Suite for Education subscriber (Sign Up Here)
Customers with a G Suite for Education Trial do not qualify
Customers with G Suite for Non-profit, Business or Enterprise do not qualify

What is the one-time migration for?

To facilitate the change/update of your existing annual Jamboard license to the Jamboard Education License. Acknowledgement and confirmation is needed by submitting the n cost order form during this process.

I received Google's notification email, what do I need to do next?

Google will perform a one-time migration of your license to the education edition by end of February 2019. BenQ will reach out to you to resubmit your order, this time at zero cost, to facilitate the update. There will be no changes to the product or functionality as part of this update, and no additional cost to you.
Once the new order has been submitted, you will see the Jamboard Education License terms of service. Upon agreement, you will be assigned the new Jamboard Education License.

Do I need to renew my existing Jamboard license? What if I have already passed my renewal date?

If your renewal date has already passed without renewal, or is coming up, Google will still keep you in an extended grace period for your current Jamboard(s) until the end of January 2019. During this time, your Jamboard(s) will not lose any functionality.
