Stef McAlpin

Stef McAlpin holds a master's degree in counseling from the University of Nebraska Omaha and holds a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Special Education K-12 from the University of Nebraska Kearney. Stef is K-12 certified school counselor, and a provisionally licensed mental health practitioner. She is an experienced school counselor with a demonstrated history of working in education for 24 years. Stef is skilled in research, solution-focused counseling, strengths-based individual counseling, facilitation of data-driven small groups, and staff development for crisis prevention.

Janice Saunders

Janice Saunders holds a master's degree in counseling from Wayne State College and a bachelor's degree in education from the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Janice has been in the education field for 31 years with experience as a biology teacher and K-6 counselor. Janice is skilled in solution-focused counseling, strengths-based individual counseling and working with individuals on goal setting.

Traci Gemberling

Traci Gemberling holds a master’s degree in K-12 school counseling from Doane University, a master’s in pk-8 school administration, and a bachelor’s degree in elementary/special education from the University of Nebraska-Omaha. She previously worked as a school counselor with Papillion LaVista Community Schools. Prior to becoming a counselor, she was a classroom teacher for 10 years and taught special education, kindergarten, second, and third grades. Traci is skilled in relationship building, data-driven small groups, solution-focused counseling, and working with individual students on goal setting.


Pine Creek Elementary

Karrie Barnes, MS, LMHP, PC

Karrie Barnes holds a master’s degree in counseling from the University of Nebraska – Omaha and a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. She is a provisionally licensed mental health practitioner, and a k-12 certified school counselor. Karrie has extensive experience working with children, young adults and families and is a trained facilitator for the Love and Logic Parenting program. She is well-versed in many therapeutic approaches and especially embraces strength-based and positive counseling techniques. With a combined total of more than 25 years of education and counseling experience, Karrie’s experience has helped hundreds of individuals reach their goals.
