How to apply for the Bennington Preschool Program as a typically developing peer:
Thank you for your interest in our program! At this time, all of our screening slots for the 24-25 program are full and we are no longer accepting applications.
Program Location: Anchor Pointe Elementary, 17007 N. HWS Cleveland Parkway.
Service Model: Currently we serve students on a 50/50 basis, meaning 50% of the students in each class have an Individualized Education Plan (they qualify as a student with a disability). The other 50% of our students are considered Peer Role Models and are typically developing. Below is the application for preschool for those students that do not have a current IEP. For those that do have an IEP and are interested in the preschool program, please discuss this with your child's Case Manager.
Program Hours: Currently, three-year-olds attend our AM class (8:00 AM - 11:15 AM) and four-year-olds attend our PM class (12:00 PM - 3:15 PM).
Other Important Information:
Once your application is received, you will receive a link to a Sign-Up Genius to sign up for screening in January. All peer role models must attend one of our screening sessions. There are a limited number of screening slots available, and these are assigned on a first come, first served basis. If all screening spots are full at the time you submit your application, you will be notified that your child has been placed on a waitlist in case a screening spot becomes available.
Students who meet the criteria following screening will placed in a lottery drawing for a chance at open preschool spots. We will screen more students than we have open preschool spots for; therefore, completion of the screening does NOT guarantee your child a spot in our program.
The lottery drawing for peer role models will be held at the end of January. We will send out emails to all peer applicants letting them know their status by the first week in February.
Tuition for peer role models is $175.00 a month. We do have fee applications that may qualify your child for free or reduced tuition at $87.50 or Free of Charge. This application will be sent out if your child is offered a spot in our preschool.
Peer Model Qualifications for the 2024-2025 school year are below:
Residency in Bennington School District
3 or 4 years old by July 31st, 2024
Completed application process (through Google Form that becomes live October 6th)
Completion of the preschool screening (Sign-Up Genius to pick a slot for screening will be sent following application on a first come, first served basis)
Must be toilet trained (can use the bathroom independently and does not require a diaper or Pull-Up)
All of our screening slots are currently full and we are no longer accepting applications. Thank you!
