The NICU, or neonatal intensive care unit, takes care of babies who are in need of extra care. NICU nurses work around the clock to care for these tiny patients. NICU babies are babies born premature, have a low birth weight, or have a health condition that requires special care. A babies time in the NICU can range depending on their condition. This puts a toll on the families, with the unknown of what will happen to their baby. Especially in the days of COVID, the stress on NICU families is high. So, as a kind gesture to these families we will be knitting NICU baby blankets!
