Child Development

Course Overview

Students will learn that child development is happening everywhere and all the time. They will explore developmentally appropriate practices when working with and caring for children. They will be introduced to the theories of child development and use an equity lens to understand the varying experiences of children. Students will also learn about career options in the early childhood education field. The class will include site visits to observe infant/toddler, preschool and kindergarten settings.
