Our governors are volunteers who support the strategic direction and planning of our school. Fran Parkins, our Chair of Governors, has reached the end of her term and we want to say a heartfelt thank you for all you hard work and commitment to our school community. Louisa Clarke, our staff governor, has also completed 4 years of volunteering. Thank you Louisa for all your input into driving our school forward. We are delighted to introduce our new governors, with photos, so please feel free to approach them when you see them onsite. Governors will be helping distribute and collect parent surveys during the Parent/Teacher Consultations.

On Tuesday 24th September, Year 2 had an exciting visit from Zoolab. Charlie shared her pets who all live in different habitats and she told us all about them. We held Stickman the stick insect, Shelby the giant snail (who comes from the rainforest in the Congo) and Olaf the corn snake. The children really liked stroking Howard, the very soft, Mongolian gerbil. It was a great experience for the children who were very enthusiastic and impressed Charlie with their knowledge about animals and their habitats. Did you know giant snails drink through their skin and has 10,000 teeth on their tongues?
This week we had Harvest Assembly and we wanted to say thank you to all our families for their generous donations. Ethan J (Year 2) summed it up beautifully in assembly when he said 'giving to people who have less than us, is one way we can show kindness and kindness is a good thing'.
Haley from the Salvation Army talked to us about what happens to all the food and supplies that have been donated and why tins of food are useful and how treats like chocolate and biscuits are welcomed by those who have very little. The children had lots to say about it and asked excellent many questions. Haley was so grateful with the amount of food Belswains families have generously given.
Congratulations to all the pupils who received a certificate in assembly, staff have noticed you doing something above and beyond!

We need your help and it won’t cost you a penny!
Asda with Joe Wicks have launched a funding campaign for schools. If you download the ASDA rewards app and select us at the beneficiary school, every time you shop between now and November 30th you’ll earn us money. (It does not impact your own cashpot rewards).
Asda will donate 0.5% of the value of your shop to our Primary school. Also, every time somebody opts in, Asda will give an additional £1 to the school Cashpot. Plus, it doesn’t stop there – Asda are also giving £50 to every school to get them started.
Please do share- every little helps! We currently have a running total of £89! Thank you so much already!
There are some spaces left for some of our school organised after school clubs, should you be interested in your child joining one of the following clubs, please email the school office who can advise on next steps. admin@belswains.herts.sch.uk
