On Monday, Mrs. Claridge led our "Speak out, Stay Safe" assembly as part of the NSPCC programme. This initiative is designed to empower children by giving them the confidence to speak out and tell a trusted adult if they encounter something that makes them uncomfortable.
We covered key topics such as identifying trusted adults, understanding different types of concerns, and knowing how to express their feelings safely.
We have sent parents/carers a link to explore the resources and discussions we had during the assembly. Your support in reinforcing these messages at home is invaluable. Together, we can create a safe and supportive environment for all our pupils.
Our Year 5 Eagles and Hawks had an amazing time wrapping up their 'Composing and Chords' unit. Students brought in their own instruments from home, culminating in a delightful class performance. What a fabulous afternoon of music making @CharangaMusic!
With this year’s World Book Day fast approaching, I wanted to let you know some of the exciting activities that are being planned in school. World Book Day will be taking place on Thursday 6th March. We are asking that all children come to school dressed up as their favourite book character. Please do not feel that an outfit needs to be purchased especially for this occasion. A book character can easily be created from items that your child already has in their wardrobe. Encourage the children to be creative! Here are some of the other activities that will be taking place on World Book Day and during the weeks surrounding this day:
Throughout the week, each class will be choosing their favourite book and creating a book cover onto one of the doors in school. Remember to look out for them around school and see if you guess which book they have chosen.
Children will be swapping classes so that a younger class pairs up with an older class and they will have some time to share their favourite stories.
The children will be completing some activities in school around the theme of “villains” and looking at some of the traditional stories and their villainous characters.
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Carers,
HCL are always striving to improve the experience for the children, and would love to hear your thoughts on the school meals provided. To help them understand your opinions and make any necessary improvements, they invite you to participate in a Parent School Meal Feedback Survey.
Your feedback will help them ensure that the meals offered meet the needs and preferences of both children and parents. The survey will cover various aspects of the school meals, including quality, variety, and satisfaction, and will take just a couple minutes to complete.

Join Us for a SEN Coffee afternoon!
We warmly invite all parents to our upcoming Coffee Afternoon. This is a relaxed and informal opportunity to meet with Mrs Jones, our Special Educational Needs Coordinator, and other parents. It’s a chance to discuss any concerns, share experiences, and learn more about the support available for your child.
Whether you have questions about SEN provision, would like to connect with other families, or just want to enjoy a cup of coffee, we’d love to see you there. We believe that working together can make a positive impact on every child's learning journey.
Date Friday 28th March, 2.45pm - Please come to the main office
Comic relief 2025 is being celebrated on Friday 21st March 2025. The theme for this year is 'let's celebrate 40 years of going big, giving big and feeling good together'. The School Council would like to raise money for Comic Relief through orgainising a 'bad hair day'. On this day, children can come to school wearing their hair in any crazy way that they would like e.g. temporary hair dye, back-comb etc for a small contribution. Please can the children bring their donations into school on the day.
Thank you
The School Council
