Art in the heart of downtown Beloit.
Entirely student-run, the Gallery takes its name from the Dave and Anne Myers Institute for the Art of Business and the Business of Art (ABBA). A key benefactor in the founding of Beloit College's Center for Entrepreneurship (CELEB), Dave Myers’49 was an entrepreneur personified, with successful ventures ranging from radio stations to real estate to restaurants. Myers’ business acumen was matched by his lifelong passion for music and the arts.
Open weekdays during the academic year, the Gallery functions as an up-and-coming artspace for emerging artists. Each semester, a student staff is hired to find new artists, curate shows, market and sell the art on a commission basis.
Like all opportunities at CELEB, Gallery ABBA is not limited to a particular discipline. Students need not be a studio art or art history major to help run the Gallery. The only requirements are a collaborative spirit and willingness to work hard to promote the artists that the Gallery represents.
Gallery ABBA is open Mon.-Fri, 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. during the academic year.
