Students are expected to have their school issued Chromebook at school, fully charged, and ready to learn.

Chromebook Repairs

It is the students' responsibility to take care of the equipment and ensure that it is kept in a safe environment.

If a repair is necessary, students should turn their Chromebook in at the library and complete a repair form to document the issues. Our BISD Technology team will then work on fixing the Chromebook and returning it as soon as possible. The time required for repairs may vary depending on the number of repairs, parts needed, and other factors.  Parents will receive an email when the device is submitted for repair and again when the repair is complete.

• Extended Repair Loaners - If your school issued Chromebook is in Active Repair and have Chromebook insurance, the student will be issued an extended repair loaner. Students may use these until their device is repaired and returned to them. Students are responsible for the condition of the extended repair loaner while it is in their possession. 

• Day Loaners - If your school issued Chromebook is in Active Repair and do not have insurance, students may get a day loaner from the library at the beginning of the school day. All devices are to be turned in by the end of the school day.  If a student is unable to complete work during regular school hours, please reach out to the librarian. The librarian will assess the situation on a case by case basis to determine if an overnight check out may be permissible. Students are responsible for the condition of the loaner while it is in their possession.

Once the repaired Chromebook is returned to the BHS Library and the student has been informed of any required payment, they will need to return their loaners to the library in order to receive their repaired device.

For students who have forgotten their devices at home, a day loaner may be issued. There is a limited number of day loaners and students with devices in Active Repair will be prioritized - any day loaners leftover will be issued on a first come first serve basis. All devices are to be turned in by the end of the school day. Students are responsible for the condition of the loaner while it is in their possession.
