Class Information:
**HOMEWORK IS POSTED TO CLASS DOJO & GOOGLE CLASSROOM DAILY**
My name is Jacki Plotts, and I am the 7th grade Science teacher here at Bell Oaks. I’ve been teaching for 21 years; 14 years in 7th grade, teaching Math and Science. The previous 7 years I taught 6th grade Science and Social Studies. As you can see, I love science!
I received my undergraduate degree from Kean University in Elementary Education with a specialization in Earth Science. I received my master’s degree in Integrated Science Education from the University of Pennsylvania, and I am highly qualified in Math & Social Studies.
When I’m not teaching science, I’m taking care of my two rambunctious boys as well as trying to find a quiet moment to have a conversation with my husband! We also have 2 young dogs to complete our busy house. When I can, I like to work out, read and relax. I also love the beach!
My educational philosophy is never stop learning! As children, we are born natural scientists. We question and explore the world around us. As a teacher, my job is to guide students in their continued quest for knowledge. As a science teacher teacher, I aim to develop students' understanding of scientific inquiry, helping them visualize science as a process of asking questions about phenomena, conducting investigations to answer those questions, and building explanations based on evidence.
I’m looking forward to seeing everyone this year! No matter what the school year brings, we will persevere and make it a successful one! Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions and concerns.
Thank you for visiting my page!
