All About Mrs. DePrince

My name is Manuela DePrince . I am the ELL teacher in my 12th year at Burke School. I am truly proud of being a part of the Bellmawr Learning Community. help run the Family Support Group in our district to help and support families of ELLs. I am also the creator of our Annual Multicultural Fair, which is one of my favorite events in Bellmawr! I love seeing our community come together to celebrate and honor our diversities, and cultures!

I earned a BA in Psychology with a Minor in Spanish at Bloomsburg University. In addition, I earned a Masters Degree in Elementary Education K-4 at Wilmington University. I loved working with ELLs so much that I went back to school and earned an English as a Second Language Certification.

I was born in Naples, Italy and came to the United States when I was 3 years old. I speak fluent Italian and conversational Spanish. I am a proud wife and mother. I have a 4.5 year old daughter and a 1 year old son. I enjoy time with my family, going on long walks, yoga, meeting up with friends and family, the beach or any place near water. I enjoy teaching and developing a rapport with my students and their families.

My Philosophy of education is that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. It is my desire to meet these students’ needs by providing an environment that is safe, welcoming of all diversities and cultures, and one which invites a sharing of ideas and consistency.
