Research strongly supports the idea that mixed-age classrooms are better for students. At Bellmawr Early Childhood Center, our students are in classes where multiple levels learn together. Typically, there are students in two years of school in each of our programs. With this, studies show that students thrive socially and academically. Here’s why:
The pace of learning is individualized.
Children develop a sense of family with their classmates and teachers. We create such a special bond!
Children are viewed as unique individuals.
Self esteem blossoms. Children get to be with their teacher and some of their classmates for two years.
This alleviates a lot of stress and creates a sense of belonging.
