About Me

My name is Dorothy Voit. I am a 2nd grade teacher at Bellmawr Park School. This is my 28th year teaching. I am proud to say that I am starting my 22nd year in 2nd grade!

I went to Camden County College and received my Associates in Arts degree before transferring to Rowan College, now Rowan University. I graduated with my Bachelor in Arts in Elementary Education K-8.
Before coming to Bellmawr, I spent 6 years teaching 1st grade at St. Peter's Catholic School. I also spent time working at Just Children Childcare Center in Mt. Laurel. I worked with children ranging in ages from Pre-k-1st grade.
My educational philosophy begins and ends with creating a welcoming and respectful environment where the children feel comfortable with asking questions, telling about their favorite things and their fears. We work together to create an environment where the children work together cooperatively and are comfortable with making mistakes. I believe in using any and all strategies so every child reaches the established goals and feels successful every day.
I am happily married and have 2 wonderful children Sean (21) and Kayleigh (18). I also have 2 wonderful rescue dogs-Cupcake and Max. I am a Philadelphia sports fan, with the Flyers being my favorite team! Some of my favorite things to do involve nature: gardening, watching the birds, planting flowers, etc. One of my absolute favorite things to do is to spend time with my family and have movie time! We are fans of Marvel, Star Wars, and Disney!
