I hope your are as excited about your preschool experience as I am. I try to be fun, loving, and energetic everyday.
Education: I attended Stockton University and received a Bachelor of Arts in Historical Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Education. I also have a Master's Degree in Special Education.
Experience: I have worked for the Bellmawr Public School system for 19 years. I started as a substitute and paraprofessional until I was hired as a teacher in 2005. I taught third grade for 10 years before given the opportunity to move to Pre-k. This will be my eighth year in preschool and I love every minute of it.
Educational Philosophy: When I started in preschool, I was told to "get the children wanting to come and loving school!" I took those words to heart and that is my ultimate goal each day. Schools are safe places to learn and grow! Learning can be fun, interactive, and not always out of a textbook.
A few of my favorite things...
Riley is my 14 year old son. He currently is a freshman in high school. I do not know how that happened. He is very social and loves lacrosse. His activities keep us very busy but I love cheering for him and his teams.
We are HUGE Eagles fans! We were super excited when they won the Super Bowl and went to the parade! Hoping every year for a repeat!
Exercise is part of my daily routine. I workout every morning before school. I try to run at least a mile and then do some other type of workout. My favorite types of workouts are running, weight training, boxing, MMA, and recently discovered Barre. It helps with my mental along with my physical and I love ice cream!
My favorite drink is chocolate milk! I met the Nesquick Bunny at the Gary Papa 5K.
My favorite holidays are Christmas and Fourth of July! I love Christmas trees so here we are at Longwood Gardens.
I love this picture. It is from Fourth of July in Punta Cana!
Prior to covid, my husband and I loved to go to concerts or listen to bands on a patio. We love country music! This is us in Madison Square Garden listening to Billy Joel! AMAZING!
My husband and I love to travel. Covid really halted many of our travel plans but we are recently booking more vacations so we can live life to the fullest. Of course, I have to work around that kid of mine! Our favorite places to travel right now is to any kind of beach. We were married on the beach in Punta Cana and it was the best day of my life!
Life throws you unexpected curve balls! We try to travel as much as possible. This is Cancun in 2021. Unfortunately, Hurricane Grace made an appearance. Thankfully, it was a category 1 but the winds and rain were like no other.
Jamaica was absolutely perfect! I did not want to come home and the water was the best I have ever seen.
My love for the beach comes from my childhood and family memories. We have been going to the shore since I was a baby. My parents have a house and when we are not at lacrosse tournaments, you can find us at the shore most weekends.
My family is very important to me! It is more and more difficult as our children get older but we enjoy spending time with each other. We went on a family vacation to Disney World in August 2022. It was magical and very, very hot! Riley and I loved every minute of it and my husband was great sport!
A major part of my life revolves around cancer. I was first diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2013. I went through the whole process of chemo, surgery, radiation, and reconstruction. I was doing great and in the fall of 2020 I had this nagging cough. I thought it was allergies and then asthma, but after many appointments, tests, and ultimately speaking with my oncologist, it turned out to be a reoccurrence of breast cancer in my lungs. Therefore I am one of 168,000 estimated people living with metastatic breast cancer. I am determined to live life to the fullest (hence traveling and being with family as much as possible.). It's taken a while but I am learning to live with the diagnosis more as a chronic disease. I am very thankful for the children I teach as they don't even seem to notice that I wear hats every day. I adopted this mindset from an influencer on instagram: This girl is THRIVING! I will fight each and everyday! "I breathe in my courage and exhale my fear!" thisgirlisthriving #Cancerfit #Needmoreforstagefour
