Judy Augustin-Baji, BSN, RN, CSN
Education ○ In 1988 I earned a Diploma in Nursing from Our Lady of Lourdes School of Nursing, with an Associate in Science in Nursing Degree from Camden County College. I returned to college in 2007, earning an Associate in Arts Degree from St. Leo University in 2009, and my BSN from Jacksonville School of Nursing in 2011. I completed the School Nurse Certification program at Rowan University in 2018.
Experience ○ I worked in adult, and pediatric rehab prior to finding my niche as a pediatric home health care nurse in 1990. I continue to work part-time in this field specializing in the care of medically fragile children dependent on trach and ventilatory support. In 2006 I became a substitute school nurse in the Bellmawr School District. I enjoyed working with the students so much that I decided to embark on the road to becoming a Certified School Nurse. I was a part time school nurse in 2018 at Our Lady of Hope School in Gloucester Township, prior to becoming the School Nurse at Ethel Burke School in September 2019.
Nursing Philosophy ○ Services provided by school nurses include leadership, community/public health, care coordination, and quality improvement. School nurses support student achievement in the learning process. Addressing the physical, mental, emotional, and social health needs of the students is pivotal for school nurses. (National Association of School Nurses, 2016).
Member- National Association of School Nurses, NJ State School Nurse Association, and Camden County Association of School Nurses since 2017.
