Congratulations to Steve Ebbesmeyer, District #118 Food Service Director!
Steve was recently named by the Illinois State Board of Education as a School Nutrition Champion for his leadership of the District #118 Food Service department. Not only does our Food Service supply all meals and snacks for District #118, but also to almost a dozen other schools in our area. Congratulations Steve!
Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Summit
On June 7th, educators and other leaders in the area attended District #118's Inaugural Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Summit. The day consisted of sessions and speakers focused on discussing ideas surrounding diversity, equity, and inclusion. The goal is to bridge communities and provide meaningful opportunities to think, talk, and discuss DEI topics that schools and communities face.
Our district proudly serves a majority of the residents residing in the City of Belleville and encompasses more than twenty seven square miles. Our enrollment is approximately 3600 students in Pre-school through Eighth Grade. Our students and staff come from a wide range of socio-economic, cultural, religious, and ethnic backgrounds, which enriches our community.
We are proud of the numerous national, state, and local achievements of our students and staff. Our students regularly represent the District at a very high level by their academic, athletic, and fine arts accomplishments. Our standardized test scores consistently exceed state averages. Both state and national organizations have recognized our staff and our educational programs as exceptional!
