Below are scholarships that seniors can apply for! Some of them are local community scholarships, while others might be national or institution specific. The Bright Futures Scholarship is a new opportunity designed to encourage students to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students who submit the 2025-26 FAFSA form will be eligible for one of eight $1,000 scholarships to help fund their post-secondary education. This scholarship aims to support students in making their educational goals more affordable. This is open to any student planning to attend any college, university, or trade school.

Qualifications of the applicant:
• Must be a Belding High School Senior
• Applicants must be pursuing a skilled trades career through post-high school trades training/apprenticeship OR through a 2-year college degree in a skilled trade.
Scholarship would apply to the following costs:
• Money for tools, specialized clothing, gear or safety equipment.
• Money for fees and expenses at a post-secondary skilled trades school training or
apprenticeship.
• Money for fees and expenses at a 2-year college skilled trades program. $250 Grant from the Belding Area Chamber of Commerce
• Grant check will be issued either to the individual, school, training program, or businessdepending on if the funds will be applied to supplies or tuition. Proof of supply costs will be required in order for funds to be issued.

The Belding Area Chamber of Commerce actively supports and promotes businesses within the Belding area by creating strong relationships with all members of the community, striving for a healthy economy and a better quality of life in our community.
The Belding Area Chamber of Commerce provides one $250 scholarship to Belding High School seniors that are furthering their education after high school.

The MSFAA Early Awareness and Multicultural Outreach Scholarship is designed to recognize outstanding graduating seniors from selected high schools. Students who are involved in extracurricular activities and plan to attend an institution of higher education in the fall 2026 semester can apply for this award.
$2,500 - 1st Place $1,500 - 2nd Place $1,000 - 3rd Place
To be considered for the scholarship, the applicant must:
● Be a Michigan resident
● Be a full-time high school senior of the 2026 graduating class
● Have a high school GPA of 2.5 or better
● Enrolled in a high school with a college adviser from AdviseMI, MCAC, or MSUCAC
● Be enrolled for at least 12 credits in an undergraduate program pursuing a degree or certificate in fall 2026

The Belding Gradeneers have a rich history of beautifying the city of Belding. They are comprised of local residents who strive to encourage interest in all phases of home gardening and promote better horticultural practices, civic beauty, advance the fine art of flower arranging, and the conservation of natural resources.
This scholarship is open to any Belding High School senior that plans to attend college, university, or trade school.

Our goal with this scholarship is to promote and encourage military service amongst our younger community members. Belding High School holds a special place for Wendell and Shanna Ellsworth, both graduates of the Class of 1959. Wendell transferred from a country school as a freshman and was active in football, track, and FFA, while Shanna, who grew up near the school, participated in band and FFA.
After graduation, Wendell earned degrees from Michigan State University and Duke University and spent his career in the wood industry, eventually co-founding Algoma Hardwoods, Inc. Shanna attended Central Michigan University and Davenport College and worked in insurance and CPA firms.
The Ellsworths have lived in Green Bay, Wisconsin, for the past 40 years but maintain strong family ties to Belding and Michigan. Each year, they award two $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors (1 boy and 1 girl) from Belding High School, with no specific requirements.

The Horse’s Mouth is excited to offer two scholarships to graduating seniors who are prepared to step directly into the workforce after high school. The Denny Craycraft Veterans Freedom Park Scholarship is established to honor the legacy of service, sacrifice, and patriotism represented by veterans in our community. Named after the park founder, Denny Craycraft, who dedicated his life to recognizing and honoring our veterans, and for the park that stands as a tribute to those who have served, this scholarship recognizes a graduating senior who demonstrates a commitment to community, leadership, and civic values. By investing in the next generation, we continue the spirit of service and freedom that defines our nation's veterans.
Graduating Senior – Must be a member of the Belding High School senior class of 2026.
Local Residency – Must reside in Belding, or attend Belding High School.
Minimum GPA – 2.5 or higher.
Post-Secondary Intent – Must plan to attend an accredited college, university, trade school, or military service.
Military-Connected Family – Student must have a parent, guardian, grandparent or sibling who is a veteran or active-duty military.
Community Service – Demonstrated commitment to community service or civic engagement (minimum number of hours 20 hours).

This scholarship is offered by the Belding High School Student Council to recognize the dedication and leadership of its members. To be eligible, applicants must be active senior members of the Student Council during the 2025–2026 school year. This opportunity is intended to support students who have demonstrated a strong commitment to serving their school community through Student Council involvement.

The Region 9 MEA-Retired Chapter is offering a one-time, $1000 scholarship for graduates whose parents, grandparents, or guardians are Region 9 MEA or MEA-Retired members in good standing. Applicants must be graduating from a Region 9 public high school in 2026. The following information details the necessary criteria and requirements to apply:
Minimum of a 2.0 grade point average during the applicant’s junior and senior years. A transcript is required.
Students must be attending and graduating from an MEA Region 9 public high school (Ionia, Kent, Montcalm, Ottawa counties).
Students must plan to attend a Michigan public college, university, or public vocational training institution which grants degrees, certifications, or licenses. Students who are considering one of the following schools: Adrian College, Baker College-Flint or Owosso, Detroit College of Business, University of Detroit-Mercy, and Ferris State University College of Art & Design are also eligible. School eligibility is based on their affiliation with MEA. Applicants for other non-affiliated or private institutions are not eligible.

The Tau Chapter of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity is awarding one (1) $1000 scholarship to a deserving individual who exemplifies the qualities set forth by Brian McMillen. Applicants must be enrolling to Michigan State University as a freshman or transfer student in the Fall of 2026. To apply for this scholarship, you must also be enrolling in the College of Ag. and Natural Resources and/or have an interest in agriculture. Applications are open to BOTH male and female students.

Are eighteen (18) years of age or older;

Are seniors in high school planning to attend a college or university in the next academic year in IL, IN, IA, KS, MI, MN, MO, NE, ND, OH, SD or WI (the “Eligible States”) or students currently enrolled in a college, university or graduate program in one of the Eligible States, and who will still be enrolled in a college, university or graduate program in the next year (each, an “Applicant”)
