Below are scholarships that seniors can apply for! Some of them are local community scholarships, while others might be national or institution specific. Make sure you carefully read the requirements for each scholarship to ensure that you are eligible. Each scholarship is due on different days, so keep track of each deadline. UM Health-Sparrow hospitals in Carson City, Charlotte, Ionia and St. Johns offer scholarship opportunities to local high school graduating seniors who intend to pursue higher education in a health-related field. The funds for these scholarships have been generously donated by benefactors of UM Health-Sparrow, including the Merten and Geraldine Whyman Health Careers Scholarship Endowment Fund for Clinton County residents.
Eligibility Requirements:
Be a graduating high school senior
Be a resident of Clinton, Eaton, Gratiot, Ionia or Montcalm County
Intend to pursue higher education in a health-related field (excluding veterinary, psychology, psychiatry, dentistry, and optometry)
Submit a copy of their most recent completed school semester transcript

The purpose of this scholarship is to facilitate the involvement of a student in college level theater and/or in continuing his/her interest in pursuing community theater as an adult pastime.

The PAVE Essay Contest and Scholarship Program encourages high school students to imagine a world with autonomous vehicles and write about what this new technology would mean for their communities.
Contest winners earn scholarship funds for college, and an award ceremony gives them an opportunity to experience an autonomous vehicle firsthand.
Note that all essays will be run through an AI detector, and any found to have been AI-generated will be disqualified.

The Greenville Area Community Foundation (GACF) awards over $300,000 in scholarships each year to area students to help with the cost of pursuing post-secondary education and training programs. Their all-in-one online application makes it simple to apply.
Belding High School seniors will be considered for the following scholarships:
Stanley & Blanche Ash Scholarship
Must be a graduating senior in good standing with plans to attend a college or university. Recipients are chosen based on academic performance, extra-curricular activities, and community involvement. Scholarship recipients must demonstrate a financial need. This renewable scholarship is a 4-year award.
Belding Family Fund- Limitless Minds Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating high school senior identifying as a neurodiverse individual or member of a neurodiverse household pursuing further education on a full-time or part-time basis. Applicant must respond to a prompt in a preferred form of communication. Preference given to students from Greenville High School, then Belding High School, then any public high school in Montcalm County.
Bryan “BA” Anderson Skilled Trades Scholarship
One scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who is pursuing a career in skilled trades. Preference will be given to students pursuing a degree in construction trades and those students attending Montcalm Community College. The applicant must show evidence of a strong work ethic, community service activity, and financial need.
Freshwater Solar Community Scholarship
Post-secondary educational scholarships will be awarded to students who are graduates of high schools within Montcalm County, Michigan. Preferential consideration should be given to applicants who attended the following school districts in Day Township and the Village of McBride: Montabella Community Schools, Central Montcalm Public Schools, and Vestaburg Community Schools. Preference will be given to candidates pursuing a course of study in Agricultural Science, Agricultural Business Management, Natural Resources, Environmental Sustainability, Renewable Energy Science, Engineering, Construction, or a closely similar area of study. Preference will also be given to students who are first-generation college students and to candidates who are members of the high school’s Agricultural Science/ FFA or 4H program.
HCAT Directors Scholarship
Scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school seniors who have been active participants in community theater productions and plan to pursue additional education after high school. Applicants are required to include with the application, a list of theater productions and involvement on stage or behind the scenes including Greenville Middle and High School, Hans Christian Andersen Theatre (HCAT), Flat River Community Players, other productions and workshops. A brief essay that addresses “what theater has meant to me” must also be submitted.
Grace Wilhelm Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship will provide financial assistance to an area graduating senior pursuing post-secondary education. Applicant must show evidence of at least a 3.0 GPA in his/her college/career preparatory classes, must be an active member of a local congregation, and actively involved in extracurricular community service activities. A Pastor letter of recommendation is encouraged. Preference will be given to student who is an active member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church (Greenville, MI) and/or other church related youth groups in the area.
Richard Pendrick Memorial Scholarship
Elaine Pendrick and family established this scholarship fund to provide financial assistance to a graduating senior pursuing higher education in the tool and die or business field. Must be a graduate with a minimum of a 2.5 GPA. Preference given first to a Greenville High School graduate, then a Belding High School graduate. If there are no eligible candidates, then it is open to a graduate from any school in Montcalm County.
Rosemary Posekany Memorial Scholarship
One or more scholarships to a Greenville and/or Belding graduating senior planning to attend a trade or technical school, community college or university and enrolled with the intent of earning a two-year or four-year degree or certification in a trade. Applicants must be well-rounded, involved in extracurricular community service activities, not necessarily associated with the high school. Applicant’s personal statement describing career plans is important.

Each year Grand Rapids Community Foundation supports hundreds of students on their college or career training journeys. We are excited to remove barriers to academic success so that students like you can pursue what you're passionate about.
Completing one online application puts you in the running for hundreds of scholarship awards for college, career training or graduate school. Most of our scholarships are designated for students who have a connection to West Michigan (students who currently live in West Michigan or have lived here in the past).

The Rosa Parks Scholarship Foundation was established in 1980 to honor civil rights legend and longtime Michigander, Rosa L. Parks, and her historic stand against racial prejudice in the 1955-56 Montgomery Bus Boycott. The foundation awards non-renewable scholarships to Michigan high school seniors who believe in Mrs. Parks’ lifelong commitment to social justice and community service while maintaining a strong academic record and demonstrating financial need.
The equal-opportunity scholarship can be applied to tuition, books and fees for the first year of college only (not to room/board or other expenses).
Applicants who expect to receive full tuition scholarships from other sources should not apply.

The Michigan Relocation Council (MiRC) is a non-profit organization that provides corporate and service industry relocation professionals the opportunity to meet and work together on a regular basis to educate, to learn and to share knowledge and experiences about current relocation practices and emerging relocation issues to better serve and address the diverse needs of relocating employees and their families. As part of our commitment to Relocation, MiRC has developed a scholarship program for current high school seniors attending Detroit, Ann Arbor, Lansing, Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo Public Schools and their surrounding counties high schools, who have relocated into or within Michigan sometime between grades 9 (after 8th grade graduation) and 12.
The MiRC organization will select the scholarship winner based on the strength of their total application. The student will be evaluated based on the following:
Academic performance (as validated by transcripts from the counselor’s office),
Extra-curricular activities (to be provided to us along with the application and essay), and
The student’s essay addressing the challenges associated with relocating to a new area and a new high school (please see greater details regarding the essay requirements below).
Requirements:
Currently a senior in good standing at a Michigan public high school in Detroit, Ann Arbor, Lansing, Grand Rapids, and Kalamazoo and their surrounding counties high schools
Has relocated more than 50 miles and changed schools due to their family's relocation between grades 9 and 12

GRBS is proud to once again offer the Perseverance Scholarship, awarding 8–10 scholarships of $2,500 each. This scholarship honors students who have demonstrated resilience by overcoming personal challenges or hardships. Inspired by the perseverance shown daily by GRBS custodial staff, this award seeks to recognize determination, strength of character, and growth—qualities that often define true success. The Perseverance Scholarship aims to uplift and celebrate deserving students who may be overlooked by traditional scholarships.

Corewell Health Greenville Hospital - is awarding seven $1,000 scholarships to local graduating high school seniors who are planning to enter the health sciences profession. One scholarship will be awarded to each of the following schools: Belding High School, Cedar Springs High School, Central Montcalm High School, Greenville High School, Lakeview High School, Montabella High School, Tri-County High School.
To successfully submit your scholarship application, please complete this form, provide a copy of your high school transcript, and a typewritten document summarizing your career aspirations. Your document must be double spaced, typed in Arial or Times New Roman font size 12, and not exceed one page. Those exceeding these parameters will be automatically disqualified.

MCCF Legacy Scholarship - By completing one short application, applicants will be considered for almost all MCCF endowed scholarships, except for a few essay applications which can be found below.
MCCF "MCC Made Me" Scholarship - This scholarship application requires a short essay. The MCCF "MCC Made Me" Scholarship is for a new or returning student pursuing a career in industrial trades (preference of tool and die) or nursing with demonstrated financial need. Eligibility and instructions are provided on the application.
MCCF Michael J. Seaman Memorial Scholarship - This scholarship application requires a short essay. The MCCF Michael J. Seaman Memorial Scholarship is for new, current, or returning MCC students. The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship, providing recipients with the opportunity to achieve their goals and graduate college debt-free. Parents 2024 Adjusted Household Income must not have exceeded $125,000. The scholarship provides $2,000 to help pay for essential items to attend college and up to $7,500 each semester for up to 8 consecutive semesters. Free workshops, Free Schwab Brokerage Accounts, and Free Study Abroad provide recipients with a practical understanding of important life skills not typically covered in the school curriculum. Hagan Scholars have attended 769 colleges and universities located in 50 states and the District of Columbia, and have studied abroad in 64 countries.

Thank you for your interest in the 2026 Better Business Bureau (BBB®) Michigan Trust Scholarship. The Trust Scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate Trust and Ethics in their community and daily lives. The BBB will be awarding six (6) scholarships in 2026 worth $1,500 each.
Please read the application instructions in full before submitting your application. We ask applicants to collect the information they need and then submit everything at once.
Eligibility:
-Applicants must be a current High School Senior or equivalent (class of 2026)
-Applicants must live within the 80 counties served by the Better Business Bureau of Michigan (all Michigan counties except Monroe, Lenawee and Hillsdale).

-Direct family members of BBB staff or board members, and members of their household, are not eligible for this scholarship.

The Ionia County Youth Meat Animal Sale Scholarship awards a $1,000 scholarship to high school seniors who have exhibited and sold one of the four large animal species at the Ionia Free Fair - namely a market beef heifer or steer, lamb, meat goat or pig - and done so for three years. The applicant must have a 2.75 GPA or higher to be considered.

The American Legion Skilled Trades Scholarship aims to provide annual scholarships to deserving individuals – aged 17-21 years old – who are pursuing a construction/building, automotive, advanced manufacturing, or energy career either in a post-high school trades training/apprenticeship or earning a 2-year college degree in any of the areas listed above where the student would be certified at the state or federal level.
Qualifications of the applicant:
Must be a Michigan resident.
Applicants should be between the ages of 17 and 21 at the time of application.
Applicants must be pursuing a skilled trades career through post-high school trades training/apprenticeship OR through a 2-year college degree in a skilled trade.
It is preferred that the applicant be a descendant of a veteran, but it is not required.

The Bright Futures Scholarship is a new opportunity designed to encourage students to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students who submit the 2025-26 FAFSA form will be eligible for one of eight $1,000 scholarships to help fund their post-secondary education. This scholarship aims to support students in making their educational goals more affordable. This is open to any student planning to attend any college, university, or trade school.

The Belding High School General Scholarship Application is a one-stop application that gives seniors the opportunity to be considered for multiple donor-funded scholarships at once. Belding High School holds a special place for Wendell and Shanna Ellsworth, both graduates of the Class of 1959. Wendell transferred from a country school as a freshman and was active in football, track, and FFA, while Shanna, who grew up near the school, participated in band and FFA.
After graduation, Wendell earned degrees from Michigan State University and Duke University and spent his career in the wood industry, eventually co-founding Algoma Hardwoods, Inc. Shanna attended Central Michigan University and Davenport College and worked in insurance and CPA firms.
The Ellsworths have lived in Green Bay, Wisconsin, for the past 40 years but maintain strong family ties to Belding and Michigan. Each year, they award two $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors (1 boy and 1 girl) from Belding High School, with no specific requirements.

The Region 9 MEA-Retired Chapter is offering a one-time, $1000 scholarship for graduates whose parents, grandparents, or guardians are Region 9 MEA or MEA-Retired members in good standing. Applicants must be graduating from a Region 9 public high school in 2026. The following information details the necessary criteria and requirements to apply:
Minimum of a 2.0 grade point average during the applicant’s junior and senior years. A transcript is required.
Students must be attending and graduating from an MEA Region 9 public high school (Ionia, Kent, Montcalm, Ottawa counties).
Students must plan to attend a Michigan public college, university, or public vocational training institution which grants degrees, certifications, or licenses. Students who are considering one of the following schools: Adrian College, Baker College-Flint or Owosso, Detroit College of Business, University of Detroit-Mercy, and Ferris State University College of Art & Design are also eligible. School eligibility is based on their affiliation with MEA. Applicants for other non-affiliated or private institutions are not eligible.
