Hello,
My name is Ms. B and I am the librarian at Turtle Mountain Elementary School. This is my second year working as a librarian and I am very excited to be here. I was previously employed by the Belcourt School district as a general education teacher, and have loved working with all our students. I have a daughter in high school and two dogs named Porkchop and Jelly Bean. I love to read in my spare time and enjoy watching movies with my family. I hope we have a great year and I look forward to helping you check out books.
My name is Donna Parisien. I’m a wife, mother of three, and grandma momma Donna to five. I’m currently a library education technician. I’ve been in the education field for longer than the internet has been a thing. Forty years! I’ve had the opportunity to be a part of nearly 700 kid’s education journey.
And it’s election season and while not to get too political, my dad Mike Laducer was a long time councilman for our Tribe. He believed that education was one of the biggest contributors to building wealth for our people. He helped support the start of TMCC. In many ways he inspired me to go into education. Plus I love the kids! I know that every student brings something unique and special to the classroom and eventually the community. I find the most joy in helping those that might need an extra boost - blending humor and jokes with math problems or having silly voices with reading. It’s great to see students who might not have the best reading scores at the start of school volunteer to read out loud by the end. I know I benefitted in elementary school from a fun teacher getting to know me and adapting to my learning style.
A few fun facts about me:
1. our librarian was one of my head start students.
2. I like to bake and think of myself as the Rez Ina Garten.
3. I drive with both feet. Do not ask me to fill in as a bus driver!
My motto - it takes a village to raise a child and TMCES is the best village to be a part of!
