Week of December 1, 2025

ELA-

Phonics: We will learn about s and the end of words and that s also makes the /z/ sound. We will read and spell words with these sounds.

Sight Word: no new word

Previously Learned Words: I, the, and, is, a, as, said, to, do, of, see

Handwriting: We will review letters learned.

Reading: We will read and discuss a fiction story. We will discuss characters, setting and story sequence.

Math- We will identify 2 and 3-dimensional shapes.

Social Studies- We will continue our unit on “Understanding the Past”.

Science-We begin a unit on plants.

A few notes and reminders:

• Field trip money and permission slip is due Thursday, Dec. 4th.
  

• Field trip to the children’s museum is on Monday, December 8th.
  

• Kindergarten will take our DIBELS Literacy Assessment on Thursday, December 4th and a Numeracy Assessment on Thursday December 11th. Please try to make sure your child is at school on these days.
  

• Christmas break is December 22nd through January 9th. We return on Monday, January 12th.
