Week at a Glance

Week of January 20, 2026

ELA-  

Phonics:  We will identify the letter Ll and its sound.  We will also read words with l blends such as slip.  

Sight Word: look, book, are 

Previously Learned Words: I, the, and, is, a, as, said, to, do, of, see, he, be, me, from

Handwriting: We will write Ll correctly. 

Reading: We will read “The Little School Bus” and discuss sequencing.  We will also talk about the story elements. 

Math- We will begin to add and write simple addition sentences within 5. 

Social Studies-  We will begin a unit on “Understanding Wants and Needs”.

A few notes and reminders:

• No school on Monday, February 16th in honor of President’s Day. 

• No students on Tuesday, February 17th.  This will be a virtual learning day.  

• We will have a class Valentine’s party on February 13th. A note will be sent home soon with more details.
