JGMS Spanish Grammenos - JGMS World Languages

At JGMS, our Spanish curriculum develops language skills according to national and state standards set by the American Council on the Teaching Foreign Languages (ACTFL) and the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).

By the end of:

- 6th grade, students will be able to communicate at the Novice Mid level in Spanish.

-7th grade, students will be able to communicate at the Novice High level in Spanish.

- 8th grade, students will be able to communicate at the Intermediate Low level in Spanish.

JGMS students will learn about the following topics and more:

6th Grade

I can introduce myself.

I can understand descriptions of others (where they are from, their interests and ages).

I can talk about my school.

I can talk about school activities.

7th Grade

I can say how I use technology.

I can say what I am doing right now.

I can understand relationships (how people are related).

I can talk about hobbies.

I can say what I like to do on vacation.

8th Grade

I can give my opinion about fashion and describe clothing.

I can interact to make a purchase.

I can talk about where I live.

I can tell you what chores I do.

I can tell you my daily routines.

I can discuss how my food preferences.
