Course Description: Economics is the study of how individuals and societies make decisions about how to transform their resources into the goods and services they want and need. The study of economics is not just about mastering a set of knowledge; it is about developing a system of thinking about how individuals and societies make decisions. In order to develop this deeper understanding of economics, this course will approach the study of economics from three perspectives:
Theory & Philosophy – understanding the ideas and arguments of the different schools of economic thought.
Analysis & Problem Solving – utilizing the tools of economics to make decisions.
Current Events & Policy – recognizing how economic issues and economic policy affect the world.
