For me the exchange was all I could have asked for and more. Because we already knew the students it was easy to jump right in and there was no awkward time in the beginning. I feel as though I have made friends for life and can't wait to visit them in the future. Although Spanish was hard sometimes I learned how to work through it and it bettered my Spanish and helped me grow as a person too. This was definitely the best experience of my life! - Hannah Clarke

The Spanish Exchange Program follows the same time line as Intersession. Students who hosted are given priority for signing up and if there are extra spots, others can join as well. The cost has ranged between $2,800 - $3,300. Each year the cost is revised according to airfare and costs while in Spain. The final cost is published on the Intersession web site. Most students also bring spending money for souvenirs and coffee shops.

There are no restrictions on Spanish language skills. Students from every level of Spanish have gone including 9th graders in Spanish II. Most students tend to go in their sophomore or junior year but seniors have gone every year as well.

The trip typically runs from the weekend before Intersession to the middle of April vacation. It runs every other year and the planned years are 2023-24, 2025-26, and so on.
