The Bedford School District understands the value of technology in the classroom as a means to elevate teaching and learning. Access to a world of information, resources, and creative potential helps our students be future ready. It is an expectation that all students come to school with a charged device every day.
The Bedford School District has a 1-to-1 device program for all students.
Kindergarten - students use iPads within their school day.
Grades 1st-6th - students use District Issued Chromebooks within their school day.
Grades 7th-12th - Parent Purchased or District Issued Chromebooks that are able to be used within and outside their school day.
When using these devices, we expect students to follow the District Responsible Use Guidelines
The Bedford School District implemented a 1-to-1 Chromebook Program beginning in the fall of 2015. All students in grades 7 thru 12 are required to have a Chromebook device for use a school. This program has enabled tremendous opportunities for our students and teachers to improve teaching and learning.
There are three options for parents to choose from:
Purchase a Chromebook yourself outside of the school district.
Purchase a Chromebook directly from the district with a one-time payment. This option will ensure the best pricing for the recommended device and include accidental breakage insurance from the district for four years. The district will manage all warranty and insurance claims if devices are purchased through the District Purchase Program. For the 2025/2026 school year we are offering the Acer Chromebook 311 - Model: C723-K1JM - Part: NX.KK BAA.002. Cost is $385 and includes four years of accidental insurance.
Borrow a BSD loaner Chromebook and charger for the school year.
If you have any questions or are interested in purchasing a chromebook through the district, please email Donna Dennis (dennisd@sau25.net), Lurgio Digital Learning Specialist.

You will need the device's serial number (e.g., NXAYVAA00141600DEA7600). To find this, go to the Chromebook's login screen and press the ALT + V keys. The serial number will appear in the top-right corner.
In the event that you have dropped, spilled, or broke your Chromebook in anyway, stop by BHS Tech 222, RAL Tech Corner in back of the library to speak to someone there about your Chromebook. We ask that you stop by our office ASAP as we want to make sure it is done in a timely manner since the issue occurred. Whether you bought the Chromebook from the school district or not, we ask that you bring your Chromebook to prove the issue that has happened.
Bring broken Chromebook to tech 222 (if issue involves charger, bring that with you as well)
If Chromebook cannot be fixed in the office, we will process a claim to send out your Chromebook
You will be given a replacement Chromebook to use while yours is being fixed - Chromebook can be brought home.
You will either get called down to the tech office to pick up your device when it comes back OR an email will be sent to your Schoogle Account.
Bring broken Chromebook to BHS tech 222 or RAL Tech Corner (if issue involves charger, bring that with you as well)
We will be able to help you and see what is wrong with your Chromebook and possibly fix it. More than likely, you will have to bring your Chromebook to the place that you bought it from in order to have someone work on it. This is due to the fact that the device was not purchased through the district and insurance was not purchased.
If your Chromebook is deemed UNUSABLE, you are able to get on the loaner program. Visit to BHS tech 222 or RAL Tech Corner to be added to the loaner program.

We will be able to help you and see what is wrong with your Chromebook and possibly fix it, but if it needs to be sent out to the insurance company to be fixed, we will not be able to. You will need to find another way to get your Chromebook fixed.
A possible solution: You could pay our technician onsite to fix your Chromebook (typically cost is at cost plus $5.00 labor charge). This is based on a case-by-case situation. We can help explain more about how this would work. NOTE: Payment must be received prior to technician working on Chromebook.
