The Bedford School District understands that artificial intelligence (AI) has capabilities that can enhance instruction for teachers and learning for students. We also recognize that AI can be used in ways that are counterproductive to the BSD mission and values. AI is a tool that our students will be exposed to and use intheir lives during and after their Bedford education. We also recognize that the effective use of AI must work with each student’s and employee’s human intelligence (HI). AI is a complement to HI, not a substitute. The purpose of the BSD AI Statement is to help assist the District’s staff and students to use artificial intelligence as a constructive tool thatwill enhance critical thinking and academic performance.
