Pastor's Corner

The Bible tells us that God created the sun, moon and stars to “serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years” Genesis 1:14. We are approaching one of those such times when we have a reminder to be thankful. Now, the pastor in me would like to remind his flock that we should always be thankful, but November provides us with an opportunity to intentionally be thankful. I would like to challenge you to focus your thanksgiving on God. I will model my challenge by using our church, but why don’t you try this exercise using your family/situation? Thankful for Who God is as I consider Yahweh as described in the Bible, I am so thankful that the creator of all things, considers us here at Bedford Baptist. We are highly favored and as I channel my innermost Apostle John impersonation, we are “the church whom Jesus loved.” As I look back to Where God has been I recognize God’s hand in building a strong foundation at BBC. Yes, part of that foundation is brick and mortar, but I am certainly referring to the Godly examples we have and have had in our church. I look around and see many examples of Christ living among us. Thank you God for those men and women of faith. I am excited to see Where God is moving right now at BBC! Incredible discipleship through Sunday School, Wednesday night Bible studies (we have two!), men and women’s weekly Bible study, Breakfast and Bibles, FCA at the high school, Lifewise at the middle school, as well as many other ministries that time will not permit me to list! God is moving and making a difference in transforming lives and using BBC as one of His tools for building His kingdom. As I eagerly long for Where God is going I am humbled as I realize that my puny brain cannot comprehend the marvelous things He has planned! I see a community that is ripe for God’s amazing plan of revival and renewed relationship with Him. Pray for the LORD to move through Bedford and I praise Him in this anticipation. I am thankful for my involvement in God’s plan. God is doing something, and certainly could do this with or without me, yet He has patiently included me here at Bedford Baptist to partner with Him in His plan. I am thankful for being included, but this thankfulness must be paired with obedience. God has given me/us the opportunity to serve, I pray that we are both thankful and obedient to this amazing opportunity!
