Strength and Conditioning will enable learners to better develop their cardiovascular system, muscular structure, and overall agility through weight training and plyometrics.
Strength and Conditioning II will enable learners to better develop their cardiovascular system, muscular structure, and overall agility through weight training and plyometrics. Learners should be able to demonstrate proper resistance training exercise and spotting techniques and be able to demonstrate an understanding of pre-season, in-season, and post-season strength and conditioning training in sports. This course can be repeated for elective credit. Introduction to Strength and Conditioning (7641) is a prerequisite for this course. While this course is open to all JFHS students, it is highly recommended for anyone in the Athletics Programs at JFHS.
No food, drinks, gum, horse play or cell phones in the weight room. Music will be allowed but censored for appropriate language and volume. Be sure to eat breakfast!
All equipment must be placed in the appropriate racks at end of the period.
Dress accordingly (refer to the syllabus), no sleeveless t-shirts, with sneakers and work hard to receive a positive weekly grade. Students that choose not to dress are subjected to ISS to eliminate distractions and wondering during class plus your weekly grade will be reduced. This is a working environment!
Students must be in the locker room before the tardy bell rings. You need to be in your stretch lines in the weight room four minutes after the tardy bell rings or it is considered a tardy.
About me
I am beginning year 27 in education/coaching and my second year at Jefferson Forest High School as a Strength & Conditioning teacher and head football coach. During my career, I have enjoyed teaching & coaching responsibilities on various levels: Collegiate level twice, preparatory school, numerous guest coaching opportunities (NCAA) and various high school levels.
