Mrs. Shaffer's 5th Grade Class

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! I am excited to get to know a new group of students and their families! This will be my 16th year teaching. I am originally from La Vista, Nebraska and a graduate of Papillion - LaVista High School. I graduated from College of Saint Mary with my Bachelors Degree in elementary (K-6) and early childhood education. While at CSM I was also a member of the golf, softball and basketball teams. I received my Masters Degree from Peru State College in Curriculum and Instruction with an Emphasis in Technology. I have taught several grades on my educational journey including 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th. I am excited to begin this next chapter as a Bulldog here in Bedford.

I have been married to my husband for over 14 years. We actually met while we were both teaching and coaching basketball. He is currently serving as Superintendent of Bedford Community Schools and Mount Ayr Community School districts. We have four wonderful children who keep us very busy! During my free time I love to head to the lake, read, bike ride and spend time with my family!
