MAIN RULES
wash your hands thoroughly, disinfect upon entry to the house and before lessons
use your own cups, cutlery, plates, do not share drinks from the same glass or bottle
until further notice, no visitors from other houses are allowed, nor are you permitted to visit them
socialise outdoors - there is lots of space in front of the house and in our garden
stick to the social distancing guideline of 1 m apart, which should not be an issue, it's called giving people personal space
if you show any symptoms, speak to matron / house staff, even if you think it's just a minor cold
get fresh air, sun (Vitamin D), eat healthily, do sports
CLOTHES
for sports and activities wear proper Bede's branded tracksuit bottoms, no shorts, skorts, leggins
get changed in the house, the "wear sports kit all day" rule is for day students only
you won't have to wear blazers until further notice
WHEN IN HOUSE
Dorter is a bubble after 5 pm to 8:20 am - no masks, no distancing necessary
every morning you will have your temperature taken
we will have more in house lunches, but no take away Tuesdays until further notice
our day boarders aren't allowed in until further notice, but try to include them in out-door socialising
parents cannot come into the house, nor can they or other taxis drive down to Dorter - drop off in car park only
only use the loos and bathrooms assigned to your rooms
WHEN IN LESSONS
you will need to wear a face mask in lessons
bring a laptop, head phones, note pad, click to view blended learning guidelines
don't even share your laptop, charger or phone with others, keep them to yourself
when it's only you who needs to go somewhere, then don't have your friends come "with you"
don't forget your pen or other things, teachers won't lend you anything
no toilet trips during lessons, they are being cleaned
line up sensibly before admission to classroom, keep your 1 m distance to day students
you will be dismissed in rows, don't just walk out
assemblies and chapel will be watched online in tutor time, weather permitting tutor time will be outdoors
AROUND CAMPUS / ACTIVITIES
FY lunch at 12:45 short lesson 4, L5 lunch at 1 pm
you will need to wear face masks on school buses, but no Eastbourne, Brighton or Hailsham trips until further notice
try to eat outdoors, there will be extra seating and tables, use the "grab and go" food service in the marquees as much as possible
MPH is no go unless you have a lesson or activity there, gym for boarders after 5pm
respect the social distancing measures of the village shop which is for Sixth Form only!
IN CASE OF LOCK DOWN
you will stay in the Dorter community and have online lessons there
boarding houses will remain open for all those of you who cannot leave
Masks are not compulsory in lessons, you can wear a mask, but it is your decision. However in closed spaces and in the dining hall they still need to be worn.
