Friendly, knowledgeable staff, here to serve you! We want to see you reach your goals, that is why we have created a team of experienced staff to help you!! In addition to an Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Physical Therapist Assistant, and Registered Dietitian, our entire team has a minimum Bachelors of Science Degree in Athletic Training, Dietetic and Nutrition Studies, or Exercise Science.  Many also have Personal Training Certification and are continuing education throughout their career with us.

Joe Palko, OTR/L ABDA

Joseph D Palko OTR/L, ADBA is a graduate of Misericordia University, where he earned his B.S. in Occupational Therapy. He has over 25 yrs experience working with orthopedic, neurological, traumatic brain injury and industrial injuries. Joe is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association, Board Certified by the National Certification Board of Occupational Therapy, a Senior Advocate for the American Board of Disability Analysts, and holds 8 additional certifications to promote health and wellness with specific injuries and disabilities.
 Joe founded Core Rehabilitation in 2008 with the goal of providing clients with sport or orthopedic injuries the best rehab program to return to their sport or activity that they love. He has treated more than 1,000 athletes, from the ages of 12 to 80. He believes there is no age limit to be able to participate safely and effectively in sports. Joe is an avid golfer and has brought his passion for golf to the therapy treatment floor by getting certified as a Functional Golf Specialist. When he isn’t on the therapy floor or in the fitness center you can find him hunting, fishing, or golfing.

Maggie Maurizio, CPT, Office Manager

Maggie graduated from East Stroudsburg University with a Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training. She is also an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer. She was a Division II collegiate softball player prior to transferring to East Stroudsburg University, where she completed hands-on experience as an athletic training student with collegiate and high school athletes in varying sports.  She has two years prior experience working as an exercise therapist in a rehabilitative office setting, and has been working with both patients and members with us for over three years.  Maggie spends her time away from work playing with her children

Gary Gifford, PT/DPT

Gary Gifford PT, DPT is a graduate of University of Scranton where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science in 2012 and Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2015.  Gary has 6 years of experience working in an inpatient rehabilitation setting where he treated patients with various orthopedic, cardiovascular, neurological, and other diagnoses.  As someone who enjoys exercise and many sports, his goal is to help clients return to their prior level of function and back to doing the things they love to do.  When Gary is not in the clinic, he enjoys weight training, playing sports, and playing video games with his friends.

Gretchen Fabiani, PTA & Health Coach

Gretchen is a graduate of Lackawanna College, where she has earned an associates degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant in May and became licensed in June of 2022. She has always wanted to pursue a career in the health and fitness industry, making her a perfect fit for Core. While earning her degree, Gretchen started her journey at Core as an intern and then health coach to learn more skills and gain experience with patients. Her goals are to help her patients get back to doing the things they love pain free while promoting overall health and wellness. In her free time, she enjoys lifting weights, writing, as well as cooking and baking. 


Ashley Turpack, LDN/RDN MS

Ashley is a graduate of Marywood University where she received her Bachelors of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics and her Masters of Science in Nutrition Science.   She then went on to complete her Dietetic Internship with Mississippi Gulf Coast. As a Registered Dietitian, she has experience with the medical nutrition management of various disease states and health conditions.  Additionally, she has experience with sports performance nutrition coaching, meal planning, food security, sustainability, and nutrition advocacy.  She focuses on nutrition that enhances each aspect of her clients wellbeing. She practices with a mentality of providing sustainable and healthy changes for her clients so they are able to reach and maintain their goals. Ashley is an avid golfer and enjoys spending much of her free time outdoors. She is passionate about pursuing wellness from many angles and hopes to improve the health of others with her endeavors.  


Natalie Cook, Assistant Manager and Marketing Specialist

Natalie Cook is a graduate of The University of Scranton, where she earned a B.S. in Social Media Strategies with a concentration in Women and Gender Studies. In her years at The University, Natalie has ran multiple social media campaigns for non-profit organizations and school clubs. Natalie is excited to bring her new skills to Core and help promote Social Media and Marketing projects. In her time outside of Core, Natalie enjoys her time hiking trails and spending time with family and friends. 




Brooke Longstreet, CPT

Brooke Longstreet is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science in addition to a minor in Coaching from Marywood University. In addition to being a student, Brooke is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer. At Marywood, Brooke is a captain of the women’s soccer team. In her freshman season, Brooke was named the Atlantic East Conference Championship tournament MVP as well as “Newcomer of the year.” She was recently a recipient of the United Soccer Coaches Player of Distinction Award, and also earned First Team All-Atlantic East honors. Brooke also participates in the Exercise Science Club, and is also a student-athlete representative for the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society. In her free time, Brooke enjoys activities that keep her active and moving! Aside from soccer, running and lifting are two of her favorite hobbies. Her favorite color is orange and she also loves spending time with her dog Rosie.
