April 10 - This week's challenge is all about learning a new skill to help around the house. One thing that I learned when I was in elementary school was how to fold a t-shirt. Over the years I have learned there are MANY different ways people fold t-shirts. This week think of a task around the house that you currently don't know how to do. Watch someone in your house doing the task, and then try it. Ask someone to take photos or videos of your learning process. Once you have mastered the skill, think of a device that could make it faster or easier. Then design that device. Make a drawing of your device and tell me how it works. Send all of your photos/videos to me (using this link) and I'll share them with everyone at Findley. Good luck! I can't wait to see what you come up with.
April 17 - Way to go Dragons. Many of you took on last week's challenge and learned a lot of new things. I saw some great devices and the funniest thing is most had to do with laundry. I know it is a never ending chore at my house.
This week your challenge is based on food! What is your favorite thing to eat? Is it something you can learn to make? This week, work with a parent or an older sibling and learning to make your favorite food. Take pictures or videos of you cooking. Don't forget a photo of the item before you eat it. Finally, using Google Doc, type your recipe. Share the document with me when you are done and I will format like the below slide. We are going share the recipes and photos in a virtual cookbook. If you don't get it done this week, no worries. We can keep adding to the cookbook. Bon Appetit!
