Physical education Report Cards

Kindergarten - 5th Grade

Physical Skills

Based upon assessments done in class relating to skills students have learned during the different units & activities in Physical Education. The Physical Education grade is different from a classroom in that we cannot specify with an “X” that a skill has not been assessed in that grading period. All Physical Skills we cover in Physical Education are combined into one overall Physical Skills proficiency grade on the report card.

fitness & movement concepts

Based on assessments students have taken and activities they have participated in which demonstrate their understanding/knowledge of different fitness and movement concepts. Some of these concepts may be around an understanding of what is happening in the body during exercise, as well as nutrition concepts that have been covered in class. This grade does not correlate to the fitness level/athletic ability of the student.

Personal & SociAL SKILLS

Based upon students engagement in class related to being respectful to others, self, and their ability to follow the Physical Education expectations and instructions.

Grades are based on year end goals derived from grade level outcomes from the Beaverton/National PE Standards. Students should be able to demonstrate proficiency (3 or above) by the end of the year based on their grade level outcome.
