Learning Coach Page

Learning coaches are those adults at home providing support for students with their learning.

While your student is at home, and until they can get back to school, these activities are intended to keep your child learning. The expectation is that the students complete the top activities every day including reading, writing, math, and movement. The activities are designed to be age appropriate and are open ended enough for students to show what they know regardless of grade level.

You may have access to technology which is great, but feel free to print out the packet for the daily activities or ask your lead secretary at your school site for a copy. A part of the math requirement is to do some Dreambox lessons, please make sure to ask the school for a device if needed to help with that portion of the work. Please remember though, it is absolutely fine to do the activities paper/pencil. A Teacher, a Beaverton Staff Member, will be in touch with your student, to check in and provide an audience for them to share their work and get feedback.

If you have any questions, save or write those down for the Beaverton Staff member, and they will follow up with you.

Please note that FLEX Online is it's own program and is not associated with students on quarantine. FLEX Online School is designed as a full-year online program. While taught by BSD teachers, the content and delivery are different from neighborhood schools.

The lessons provided here, BSD at Home, are for students that will be out of a classroom for about 10 days while on quarantine. While participating in quarantine your student maintains attendance at their regular home school and receives additional support while they are out of the classroom. A student's grade cannot be negatively impacted due to time in quarantine.
