Challenge Three

Challenge Three

Fort Hunker Down

Creative kids are messy kids! Create a space to call your own. Do you have siblings? Collaborate to make the best fort you can!

Instructions

  1. Option One: Create a fort in your living room or bedroom using blankets and pillows.

  2. Option Two: Create a fort using only 15 items.

  3. Option Three: Create a fort in which you can stand up.

  4. Option Four: Create secret crawling tunnels inside your fort.

  5. Option Five: Create a fort which includes your family room TV so you can chill out and relax with your favorite (educational) show.

  6. Option Six: Create a fort using your OWN criteria. Be ready to explain your design choices.

Questions to consider

  1. How will your roof stay up? Will you use books, clothespins, or something else?

  2. Will your fort be for your own use or will you include your siblings?

  3. How will you enter and exit your fort?

  4. What is the advantage of using bedsheets instead of blankets?

  5. Can you safely add a lamp or other light source to your fort so you can snuggle up with a good book?

Finished?

  1. Write a paragraph describing your fort. Be sure to write about all the design choices you made and how you made them happen.

  2. Take a picture or video of your creation.

  3. Add to social media: With your parents permission, add your description, picture/video to Facebook, and/or Instagram
