History
The National Junior Honor Society was found in 1929 by the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
The society was founded on the principles of Scholarship, Leadership, Citizenship, Character, and Service.
Today, NJHS chapters can be found in every state of the union with over 1 million students taking part in community service activities.
At Hilton Head Island Middle School, we have taken part in community events such as the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. We have raised funds to help a local cancer nonprofit organization. And we have hosted an annual canned food drive with the donations being given to Second Helpings and the Deep Well Project.
