Amanda Atwell Peters
Director of K-12 Curriculum & Instruction
Mrs. Peters began her career in education in 2003 as an elementary school teacher in Edgecombe County, North Carolina. In 2015, after earning her master’s degree in school administration, Ms. Atwell advanced into school leadership, serving as both a Director of Curriculum and a School Principal. With over two decades of experience spanning elementary and secondary education, she brings extensive expertise in classroom instruction, school administration, testing coordination, accreditation processes, instructional support, strategic planning, and curriculum development. A dynamic and motivational leader, Ms. Atwell is known for her ability to foster strong, lasting relationships with school leaders and stakeholders. In her current role, she supports all K–12 schools within BCS by providing leadership and vision for the planning, implementation, and advancement of curriculum and instruction. She is presently pursuing a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership at East Carolina University, with expected completion in May 2026.
K-12 Instructional Support Specialist
Mrs. Holley is originally from Williamston and began her career with Martin County Schools in 1991. She taught fourth and fifth grade math, science, and social studies before joining Beaufort County Schools as a fifth grade math and science teacher in 2009. She then served as a Mathematics Instructional Coach for over eight years before joining the Beaufort County Schools Curriculum & Instruction Team as a Curriculum Support Specialist. She serves on the NC2ML (North Carolina Collaborative for Mathematics Learning) Design Team and is a Foundations of Mathematics trainer. Lesley lives in Washington with her husband, and they have two adult sons.
