Pine Wood Elementary Library

"The simplest way to make sure that we raise literate children is to teach them to read, and to show them that reading is a pleasurable activity. "

Meet Your Librarian

My name is Ms. Simon, and this is my eleventh year at Pine Wood Elementary. I was born and raised in Gueydan, LA. I received my teaching degree from McNeese State University in 2000 and went on to teach English for 10 years. I completed my master's degree in library and information science through LSU in May 2014. I am here to help your child discover the joys of reading, and I look forward to a great school year.

Policies

Students may check out two books at a time for a two week period. Books can be renewed once.

Should a student lose or damage a book, he is responsible to pay for its replacement. You may replace the book with a hardcover book that you find elsewhere if it's cheaper.  This must be completed before the end of the year. If the lost book is found before the end of the year, a refund will be issued.

***If I send home an overdue notice, it is simply to alert you to your child's overdue books. It is NOT a bill. Often times, the book can be shelved in his teacher's classroom bookshelf. I always remind students to check there if they cannot find it at home.
