Srta. Smith earned her Bachelor's degree from Lock Haven University in Education Spanish with minors in International Studies and Mathematics. She continued to earn her Masters in Applied Linguistics with a concentration of English as a Second Language from the University of Boston Massachusetts. Later, she earned her AP Language and Culture certification.
Srta. Smith serves as a classroom instructor, the coordinator of the Elementary Spanish Program, and the adviser of the BEA World Travelers Club, duties that span elementary, middle, and high school levels.
The BEA World Travelers Club traveled to Costa Rica in 2017, 2023, and again in June 2025. Costa Rica is also where Srta. Smith volunteers her time as a two-way interpreter. She brings a wealth of cultural and linguistic experience that she shares through stories and pictures, drawing students into their learning.
In her "free time", she enjoys spending time with family and friends and traveling.
