I started teaching at Blue Earth Area in 1987. I have taught Kindergarten and Second Grade. I also have worked as a PLC leader (Professional Learning Community), a Mentor, a District Leadership member and other committees.

I am a graduate of Elk River High School in Elk River, MN. I graduated from Augsburg College in Minneapolis, MN in 1987 with a BA in Elementary Education and a minor in religion. I have taken many graduate level courses throughout my time at BEA.

I have held some state-wide positions. I have been Vice-President of the Minnesota Council of Teacher's of Mathematics. I have worked on Best Practices Leadership in the state of Minnesota. I have worked on writing standards for elementary students in math in Minnesota. As you can see I have an interest in teaching mathematics. In these roles I have presented many times for staff development purposes within the district and throughout the state.

I have been trained in the Love and Logic classroom management system. I present staff development locally and around the region in using this system.
