The JSA Crew is perfect for students interested in the creative and leadership side of theatre production. Crew members work directly under Mrs. Hannah Rissler and may help with student directing, publicity, props, costumes, makeup, and hair for JSA productions.
A new JSA Crew is selected for each play and musical, allowing students to explore different areas of theatre and gain hands-on experience throughout the season.
JSA Crew members earn JSA/service hours for their participation and are not paid. This crew is a great fit for students who want to collaborate creatively and be involved in bringing productions to life backstage.
JSA Crew meets as needed while in production season.
District Crew is the technical production team for the JCPA and works events throughout the entire school year (not just JSA productions) under Mr. John Coyne and Mr. Ryan Lucas.
Crew members help build sets and learn technical theatre skills including lighting, sound, stage operations, and the use of professional JCPA equipment, all while supporting a wide variety of events including plays, musicals, elementary programs, choir and band concerts, and outside rentals or community events.
Students who join District Crew gain real-world technical experience and may have the opportunity to be hired by the district as paid employees for their work and join the Paid Crew.
During production season, District Crew meets every day in the scene shop from 2:45PM to 5:00PM to work on different aspects of the current show. Outside of production season, District Crew meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:45PM to 5:00PM.
