I chose JAGS because I am invested into World Politics and U.S Politics as well. I am invested into what the world has done and how it could've been better or support the decision.
The Four Pillars of JAGS
Welcome to my Jackson Academy of Global Studies Site! My name is Noah Walton, and this is my 'About Me' page.
I am currently a Senior at Jackson High School, and I am a part of the Choir in Chorale and JAGS, Jackson Academy of Global Studies. I will graduate in the class of 2026, and I plan to attend college at The Ohio State University to dual major in Political Science and Finance. I plan to use my degrees to better help Middle America be represented instead of the political spectrums that are currently in our capital. My Financial Degree will be used to help people use their finances wisely, as everything is continuing to become more expensive by the minute.
For my life, I plan to stay in Ohio. I plan to attend The Ohio State University in Columbus, live down there during my college years, and try to move back to Jackson Township to be close to my family and other relatives. Jackson Township may not be a perfect utopia, but it is one of the best Townships in Ohio that I have lived and experienced in. I plan to work in Jackson Township or nearby, stay in connection with my family, and live my life to the fullest with my home, family, and my dream car of a Saturn Sky.
All the contents meet the criteria of the GPS for JAGS as all the pillars are met throughout the school year or during the trips that help expand my perspective of the world.
Investigate the World: The League of Nations unit was my favorite, as we got to roleplay as a country and choose the outcome for our class, and see what the correct answer was at the same time. I played as Finland with my partner Mars, and together we had a fun time roleplaying as Finland, and experienced a better and more integrated subject than I have ever had in my years at Jackson Local Schools.
By integrating the League of Nations perspective, the importance of the perspective was greater for the roleplay than the grade itself. The roleplaying was something, but the perspective that you had to take for the action of roleplaying changes your view of the United States to a more European point and explores the issues, such as mine, in Finland.
Recognize perspectives: In Spanish I, the basic Spanish that most people know, like "Hola", was our starting point, but over the year, I progressed in the course and understood more Spanish, and could have a lower-communicative conversation with spoken English, but understood that the perspective on the Spanish culture and language is importantly different than our American Culture.
