This year, I took AP Research with Mrs. Barnes. Throughout the year, we created a research paper based on a discipline we chose at the beginning of the year. We conducted a review of the body of knowledge and situated our research question within a gap in the scholarly conversation. We then conducted our research method and analyzed the results while recognizing the limitations and Implications of our work. This class aligns with multiple pillars of JAGS. Communicating ideas is emphasized through our presentation and oral defense of our research project. Investigate the world and recognize that perspectives are also present throughout much of the research process, including the literature review and the execution of the method. I think this class will be very useful in preparing me to conduct research in the future.
In AP Government, we learned about the American government. This included its foundations, structure, civil liberties, and multiple groups and factors that influence it. We learned about election processes and campaigns. Throughout this class, we explored various perspectives on the government, which fits right into the JAGS pillar of recognizing perspectives, because we had to consider different viewpoints and arguments about the government. We also attended local government meetings and completed community service. These tasks align with JAGS pillar of taking action because we were involved in the community and volunteering.
