ENGLISH 10
ENGLISH 10 - Farenheit 451 might have been the worst book ive ever read. thats all i have to reflect on this class. i spent half the year mad that they even had the nerve to make us read this book. but i also had my first student teacher, and english 11 made me lucky to realize how good she was. she was truly overhated.
Documentary
One of the most significant projects from Sophomore year was the Documentary. Our group chose to explore the question: can money buy happiness? In this project, we aimed to gather different perspectives from around the world to see how various cultures view this idea. We also incorporated college-level research and real-world statistics to help us arrive at a broader understanding. Additionally, the project encouraged us to reflect more deeply on the values that shape our lives and futures. This assignment gave us the opportunity to explore a timeless question through both writing and thoughtful discussion.
This artifact represents the pillar of Communicating Ideas because it required my group and me to gather studies, real-life statistics, and personal reflections to address the central question posed in our documentary. We also needed to simplify and summarize certain sections to help the audience grasp the deeper message we were trying to convey. This project showcases some of our best collaborative work—not just in terms of writing, but also in learning to think critically and communicate with confidence and clarity.
COSTA RICA
COSTA RICA REFLECTION- during my Costa Rica trip, i continued to notice the differences in status across the world. going to Costa Rica and seeing all the people living in more of a slum like situation made me appreciate what i have and how truly lucky i am. it also made me realize how many people struggle with providing. in the states it is a lesser issue compared to poorer parts of the world, but people truly struggle to provide and live in awful poverty. this trip made me realize how truly fortunate i am.
this connects to the Jags pilar explore the world. Going Costa Rica was more than just a trip, it was a doorway into the lucious ecosystems and rugged land compared to the states
Chemestry
SCIENCE - chem was an incredible class that i learned a lot. i enjoyed this class and almost every minute of it
US HISTORY
HISTORY - US history was a snoozefest. i dont think i could connect this to any jags pillars if i wanted to. i honestly think i slept more than i actually worked and still got an A in this class.
this connected to one of the pilars because it was well a history class so they are basically forced to connect
