Hello!
My name is Ms. Faudoa and I am excited to be working with our Baldwin Lane students, families, and staff. I started my time with Desert Sands Unified School District as a Student Assistance Program Counselor and now have the pleasure to serve our elementary students.
A little about me...
I was born in East Los Angeles and raised in a small town. I am the oldest of 9 siblings. I was raised by our grandmother after she was granted legal guardianship. I endured hardships growing up but because of these I became resilient. I broke many generational traumas and I decided I wanted to make a difference within children, families, and our community.
I started my professional journey working as a Mental Health Program Coordinator and provided positive coping skills to ages 16-25 years old. Prior to this, I worked as a Registered Substance Abuse Counselor. I was able to work with those who struggle with addiction, listen to their problems, and often use methods like the 12 -step program to help these people towards recovery. In addition, I also worked as a Therapeutic Behavior Coach with current and former foster youth. I volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) worker and raised over 200 bikes for children in need as well as volunteering in Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall Detention Center.
Throughout my years as a professional and working in many different areas, I was able to understand and empathize with many different people. I love what I do and I believe my purpose in life is helping others.
When I am not at work, you can find me traveling or visiting different restaurants!
