This website is dedicated to Beardsley School District staff members to help make their virtual learning (VL) experiences rewarding for students, parents, and themselves.
Here are some key concepts to keep in mind:
Focus on delivering quality instruction that includes both synchronous and asynchronous learning. The key word is "quality."
Don't overwhelm students and parents by providing mass amounts of "busy work."
Check for understanding more often to determine if the students are learning what you are providing. In other words, keep the assignments short and check for understanding along the way. Build on concepts.
Think about parents when developing lessons. Recommend educational applications that are useful to them, such PhotoMath, an app that allows users to capture an image of a math problem within the application's environment, and then the app solves the problem and provides the solution.
