Scholar Spotlight Overview
The Scholar Spotlight is a written/video testimonial open to any scholarship recipients who have been highly impacted by the work that we do here at The Be A Leader Foundation. From our 1 on 1 coaching sessions, scholarship awards, and events we host, any of these make great examples of how we have supported you throughout college (More details below). By completing the Scholar Spotlight Guide you will be awarded 3 volunteer hours. YOU ONLY NEED TO COMPLETE 1 SCHOLAR SPOTLIGHT TESTIMONIAL. NOT BOTH. YOU GET TO DECIDE WHICH ONE YOU WOULD LIKE TO DO. Once you have completed the Scholar Spotlight it is your responsibility to submit your hours on the BALF Volunteer Hours Form.

Choose 2 - 4 guide questions (BELOW) to answer
Write 1 - 4 sentence responses per guide questions
Create a folder in Google Drive -- Name it, "First Name-Last Name-Current Year"
Upload your written response in your Google Drive folder and email it to your Balf College Coordinator
Please include a photo of yourself in that Google Drive folder
In your testimonial describe how long you have been associated with Be A Leader.
In your testimonial include your first name, grade, and school you currently attend, and the date that the testimonial was given.
ALWAYS end with a thank you to Be A Leader supporters!

Record:
ORIENTATION: horizontal/landscape - How you hold your phone
Blank/solid background
If outdoors: well-lit/shaded area (car-ports or patios are great)
If indoor, indirect natural light is best
Best to record/crop from the elbows up
The recording must be anywhere from 1 - 3 minutes long

Mention in the video your responses in 1 - 4 sentences per guide question

Introduce yourself (name, grade, and school)... "and I am a LEADER."
EXAMPLE: "Hi, my name is Gary. I am in my second year at ASU, majoring in business management and I am a leader!"
EXAMPLE: "Hi, my name is Jonathan. I am attending Gateway Community College, studying Commercial Electrical Technology and I am a leader!"
