Students at Lucille Umbarger, Allen, Bay View and Edison who are eligible for English supports are provided assistance through various flexible options that include: push in supports when students need extra help and before or after school extended learning opportunities.

Additionally, certificated EL Specialists assist classroom teachers with co-teaching, collaboration and planning, and co-assessment of student work with a lens on English skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking.

Dual Language

Dual Language, offered K-6 at West View Elementary, 7-8 at Lucille Umbarger, and 9-12 at Burlington Edison High School, is the most effective way of educating students in both English and Spanish.
