Every 10 years, following the U.S. Census, Burlington-Edison School District is required to redraw the boundaries of its Board of Directors' districts.
Please note-Redistricting of school board director boundaries does NOT affect student school attendance boundaries.
In partnership with Sammamish Data Systems Inc., the B-ESD Board of Directors has recommended a proposed map with their new boundaries. All redistricting analysis and realignment work is based on the Census Block information from the 2020 census. As per RCW 29A.76.010, the Board will be accepting written public comment during a public hearing at the regular board meeting on February 28, 2022, before adopting Resolution No. 875 - B-ESD's Draft Redistricting Plan.

What is redistricting?
Redistricting is the process of changing the boundaries of voting districts so that all districts have the same number of people. This is how we make sure that everyone has equal representation in government.
Why redistrict?
As states and communities grow and change, peoples’ representation in government begins to get out of balance. Redistricting brings everything back into balance to make sure that every member of the Burlington-Edison community is represented fairly.
