We are all nervous about the return to school - we've been outside these walls for over 150 days! It's OKAY to have some nerves. Adults and students alike can get through the transition by sticking together and reaching out for help when we need it. Kids may not "ask" for help in the way you'd think though. Be mindful of behaviors outside their norm and ask yourself if they might be trying to communicate a worry of some kind. Unicef has some ideas for us to make sure our kids are well taken care of. EVERYONE can benefit from the release of excess energy, burning unwanted calories and the pure enjoyment of physical activities. This also includes children and adults with special needs. People with physical or emotional difficulties are not always encouraged to exercise because the fear of injuries or frustration completing the activity.
