Theory of Operation

C&C PCB consists of 3 stages of operation

Explanations below apply to both channels

Stage 1 - Control Activation

Once a CTRL active signal is received through the optocoupler, The darlington transistor activates the Lock/LED

power transistor while also enabling the trigger channel by pulling down the 74HC221 negative edge A input.

While the 74HC221 A input is inactive (high), All input on positive edge B is ignored.

Stage 2 - Trigger Operation

When A input is active (low) then operation is primed and waiting for positive edge B input.

To comply with input norms our trigger is held high (positive 5v) and activated when pulled down.

Debounce is applied to the positive to ground switch operation, Cleaning up any switch bouncing.

This debounced input (Now rising to 5v when activated) is fed to the clean Schmitt Trigger B input.

Stage 3 - Output Activation

When input A is low (active) and Input B goes high (rising edge) then output phase is initiated.

The output phase will turn on output Q for the time duration set by the dip switch (52/70/105mS).

Output Q activates a transistor that drives both the counter power transistor and credit output optocoupler.

Once the time duration is reached Q is turned off resulting in the counter & optocoupler returning to unpowered state.

Technical Notes & Errata

Universal Controller Input

Controller input is universal and may be between 1 - 12 volts DC to activate.

(Recommend 5 volts for typical operation)

Multicoin Mechansims

Pulse duration may be set on electronic multicoin mechanisms.

Simply set C&C speed to match your multicoin mechanism.

Note: 20~30mS speed selection not supported.

Screw Terminal Connection Polarity

In most situations screw terminal connection polarity should be observed & adhered to.

Connect your Ground to the NEG (negative) terminal
Connect your Signal/Power to the POS (positive) terminal

Failure to do so may result in damage & loss of operation to your C&C PCB.

C&C PCB Controller Options

For practical reasons C&C PCB only supports USB2Controller

But it's universal design means you can use a controller of your choosing.

Some of the more common controllers are (But not limit to)

LPT Port, USBPacdrive, USB Eight Out

Each interface has it's own communication methods which you will need to incorporate into your software stack.

The communication methods are usually straight forward and are not difficult to understand or use.

Service and Support

Setup is quite simple and you should be up and running in a relatively short time.

However if you require setup guidance or troubleshooting software and Google Search / Arcade Forums

are not helping provide the answer you need then you may contact me by email directly for assistance.

Returns

All units are tested before dispatch and personally hand packaged by me.

Unfortunately returns are not accepted except for exceptional circumstances.

(These are small run PCB's with no overhead allocated for returns)
