Senior Pastor

My wife is Joanna and we have been members of Beaver Dam Baptist Church since 1998.   I became the Senior Pastor in November of 2017.  Joanna is a school counselor at Crest Middle School (CMS) and we have two children, Joey and Thomas  and a  wonderful daughter-in-law, Erica!  Joanna and I enjoy spending time with our extended family, traveling, and shopping at thrift stores looking for treasures at a bargain.   I enjoy anything outdoors and particularly like to fish the streams of western NC and the surf of the Outer Banks.  Joanna loves family and devotes much of her leisure time to loving her family.  We are recent empty nesters with our boys starting their own journeys. We look forward to this new phase of life together.

As Senior Pastor, I have charge to equip the church for the ministry of the gospel and to care for the needs of this flock.   I strive to utilize the spiritual gifting of this congregation to help me accomplish those tasks.  My passion and gift to the church is preaching and teaching.  I consider the pulpit ministry and the charge to love people my greatest pastoral responsibility.
